What can a personal trainer do for me?

There are many reasons why people hire a personal trainer.  Trainers are excellent for providing motivation, teaching safe workout techniques, giving individualized instruction, suggesting new effective workouts, to bolster confidence, to provide sport-specific training, assist with injury rehabilitation, and to teach new skills.  

What is a Consultation?

Your consultation is typically 15 - 30 minutes via phone.  It is your opportunity to interview me and see if we are a good fit for each other.  I will ask you a mix of questions regarding your fitness level, medical history and injuries, goals, schedule, pricing, etc.  I want to get to know you and take the intimidation out of our first meeting.  This time will allow me to write your first personal training session plan.  We will set a date for our first personal training session.  I offer this service for free; other fitness studios charge up to $65 for a phone consultation!

What can I expect during my first personal training session?

Your first session will be 1 hour and 30 minutes long (30 minutes free!).  We will start by weighing you, measuring your body fat and muscular %, visceral fat (internal fat around your organs), BMI, and calculating your body's actual age (based up your measurment data).  Then I will measure you (arms, hips, abs, chest, legs, etc.).  These measurements are simply to give us a number to base our progress on; you will be amazed how these numbers change!  Next, we will warm-up, do a few fitness tests (when applicable) and begin our first, 1 hour workout!  Your first session is about us getting to know each other better and for me to get a better understanding of the direction we will take with your future workouts.

 

When is DRIVE Fitness available for personal training?

Training sessions are based on a "first come, first served" basis.  At the time of your session, we will schedule your next session.  Preferences are given to those who book in advance and those that routinely schedule the same day/time.  Some clients book a month in advance to reserve their time preferences.  I will try my best to accomodate last minute scheduled sessions.
Training is available Monday-Friday from *5:30 AM - 8 PM (*dependent upon travel time).  Weekend sessions are available at an additional co
st.

Do I need to have fitness equipment or a home gym?

No, you do not have to own any equipment.  I will provide everything we need.  We will use a variety of equipment, some of which includes:  boxing gloves and target mitts, battling ropes, weights, exercise balls, and medicine balls.  The equipment changes each week depending on your fitness goals and interests.

How long will it take to see results from personal training?

Guaranteed you will feel GREAT after your very first session!  The length of time to see results depends on many factors: your initial fitness level, NUTRITION, genetics, frequency of our workouts, and your dedication and commitment (including working out on your own!).  Progress will be much slower for someone who workouts with me 1 day per week versus 2, 3, or 4- especially if you are not working out on your own.  Results take time.  Do not expect overnight results- you will only become disappointed and frustrated with yourself.  It took time to get to your weight/fitness level you are at currently, it will take time to reverse it.  I look forward to seeing your results and helping achieve your goals!
